Start with small, repeatable jobs that save the owner time or stop enquiries going cold: missed-call text back, replies to new enquiries, review requests after a job, appointment reminders, quote follow-ups, invoice reminders, a weekly report, social post drafts, intake forms turned into job sheets, and FAQ answers from the business's own documents.
How much should I charge for small-business automations?
Charge a setup fee from your build hours and a monthly fee from running costs plus upkeep. A 2026 roundup by a US automation agency put single-workflow builds at US$1,500 to US$7,500 and managed multi-workflow plans at US$300 to US$1,500 a month; simple automations for one small business usually start lower.
Can one person run an AI automation agency?
